HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A suspect is now facing multiple felony charges after he intentionally rammed several Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office vehicles in a desperate attempt to escape arrest.
The incident began on September 9th, 2024, around 5:30 pm, when deputies tried to stop a Chrysler 300 driven by 28-year-old Sean Bolton for minor traffic violations. Instead of cooperating, Bolton sped off, leading deputies on a dangerous chase through a residential neighborhood.

Deputies attempted to use stop sticks, but Bolton swerved his car directly at one of them, forcing the deputy to jump out of the way. The chase continued, with Bolton ramming two patrol cars and nearly hitting deputies during a PIT maneuver at the intersection of Ekker Road and Carriage Point Drive in Gibsonton.
“This individual had multiple opportunities to do the right thing and pull over, but instead, he chose to continue his reckless and dangerous behavior, showing a complete disregard for the safety of our deputies and the community members around him,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “His actions were irresponsible and could have had far more tragic consequences.”
The pursuit finally ended after less than a mile when deputies successfully executed another PIT maneuver. Three deputies suffered minor injuries and were treated and released from Tampa General Hospital.
