28-Year-Old Plant City Man Dies After Crashing Into A Stopped Box Truck

PLANT CITY, Fla. – A 28-year-old Plant City man was killed overnight in a crash that happened just after 8:30 PM on Thursday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the Plant city man was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed on SR-60, east of Clarence Gordon Jr Road.

Troopers say a single unit box truck, was stopped westbound on SR-60 for a railroad crossing east of Clarence Gordon Jr Road when the Plant City man collided with the rear of the box truck.

Troopers say the man died at the scene of the crash from injuries sustained. The driver of the box truck, a 51-year-old Mascotte man, was uninjured.
