28-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies After Weekend Crash In St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A 28-year-old man died Tuesday following a May 4 crash in St. Petersburg.

Police say a 2005 Grand Cherokee was southbound in the 7900-Block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr St N.

The Jeep made an eastbound turn into the shopping center at 79th Avenue North and was struck by a Yamaha Motorcycle driven by 28-year-old Benjamin Gallaugher.

Gallaugher was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where he later died on May 7th from the injuries he suffered during the crash.

The driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
