ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A motorcyclist died from injuries sustained in a traffic crash Monday afternoon at the intersection of 40th Avenue North and Park Street North in St. Petersburg.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:41 p.m. According to preliminary reports, Christian O’Donnell, 25, was operating his motorcycle southbound on Park Street North, approaching the intersection with 40th Avenue North.
At the same time, a Honda Civic was traveling northbound on Park Street North. The driver of the Civic initiated a westbound turn onto 40th Avenue North, turning into the path of the oncoming motorcycle. This maneuver resulted in the collision.
Emergency responders transported O’Donnell to HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the hospital due to the severity of the injuries suffered in the crash.
Authorities have confirmed that the investigation into the fatal crash is currently ongoing.
