The man said he arrived at the bank and removed money from his account. While speaking with Covington, the man said she abruptly began to take the envelope of cash away from him. A struggle ensued and the woman was able to take the envelope, remove a large portion of the cash and drove away.

The suspect drove away in a silver 2011 Chevrolet HHR with a Florida tag, NGSG45. The victim got back in the car and chased the suspect’s vehicle through the city and onto State Road 544.

A witness saw the chase and forwarded the license plate number of the Chevrolet to police. Detectives checked the plate and determined the Chevy HHR did not belong to Covington.

The suspect was last seen headed toward the City of Winter Haven via Lucerne Park Road. An arrest warrant has been issued for one count of robbery.
