You’re entering the beautiful city of St. Pete heading to the beach. Your stomach begins to grumble and you wonder what is nearby. You then remember there is a pizza ATM that has your mind and stomach curious.
As soon as you arrive and step out of the car, you smell the saltwater. You instantly gain chills with the wind blowing towards you and the smell of pizza and wings linger.
Mark Ferguson, a native of St. Pete, decided to purchase and build the restaurant in 1991. However, the Pizza ATM idea was not thought of until 2020. It is inevitable that the Covid-19 pandemic hit the nation like a boulder.
Jobs were lost, shortages took over, and businesses had to re-think the new normal we were undertaking. “An employee shortage hit us hard. The ATM was a massive help when it came to still serving pizza,” Jake Ferguson said.
The adjustment of having an ATM to serve Pizza? That was an advantage.
Nightlife plays an enormous role in the popularity of the ATM as most restaurants aren’t open 24-hours but the pizza ATM is available anytime you are craving a slice.
When you swipe your card or insert your dollar bills you’ll experience happiness like none other.
While waiting for the $10 pizza to pop out of the slot, I was expecting to be surprised, since it’s not every day that you order a pizza through an ATM.
The cheese was smooth and layered so that you can’t miss it when you take your first bite. That authentic sauce stores the spices and flavors that make or break a pizza were spot on. With a wood-grilled crust that pleases the soul, this pizza is well worth the $10.
