A Florida woman is a newly minted millionaire thanks to a lucky scratch-off ticket! The Florida Lottery announced this week that she claimed a $1 million prize from the “Gold Rush Limited” scratch-off game.
Carolyn Eagle of Gainesville chose to receive her winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of $795,000. She purchased the winning ticket at the Archer Road BP, located at 6550 Southwest Archer Road in Gainesville. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the lucky ticket.

The “$20 Gold Rush Limited” game launched in September 2021 and offers players the chance to win big. It features 32 top prizes of $5 million and 100 prizes of $1 million, along with over 33,000 prizes ranging from $1,000 to $100,000. The overall odds of winning are 1 in 2.65.
Scratch-off games are a significant revenue generator for the Florida Lottery, accounting for approximately 74% of ticket sales. Since their inception, these games have awarded over $64.3 billion in prizes, created 2,230 millionaires, and generated more than $19.5 billion for Florida’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.
