PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – The Pinellas Medical Examiner confirmed the cause of death of two-year-old Florida boy Taylen Mosley, who was found in the mouth of an alligator, as a drowning.
The child was missing after his mother was found murdered in their apartment on March 30th. Investigators located his body in Lake Maggiore on the evening of March 31st.
His father, Thomas Mosley, age 21, is charged with two counts of 1st-degree murder for killing Pashun Jeffery and their son, Taylen.
A major search was launched using all the department’s resources and the assistance of many local, state, and federal agencies.

The investigation led detectives to search Dell Holmes Park, 2741 22nd Street South, and Lake Maggiore. After an all-day search of the area, officers were alerted to an alligator seen with something in its mouth.
The alligator was killed to retrieve the body, and it was confirmed as that of Taylen Mosley.
St. Petersburg Police Chief Anthony Holloway said officers confirmed the body was that of 2-year-old Taylen Mosley, and officers were able to retrieve Taylen’s body intact.
