2 South Carolina Men Indicted On Federal Drug Conspiracy Charges

A federal grand jury in Columbia has indicted Deangelo Montrel Lamont Simmons, 31, of Moncks Corner, and Raynard Dewayne Williams, 36, of North Charleston, for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine.

If convicted, both men could face up to 25 years in prison and a substantial fine of $20 million. They are currently being held in custody awaiting trial.

This case results from a collaborative investigation involving multiple federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.

U.S. Attorney Adair F. Boroughs emphasized that the charges are accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
