DUNEDIN, Fla. – A chain-reaction crash on US-19 on Saturday night resulted in the fatalities of a 54-year-old woman from Clearwater and a 50-year-old man from Largo, according to officials.
Troopers say the Largo man was driving a Chevrolet Trax north on US-19 in the inside center lane, south of Republic Drive, shortly after 10:30 p.m.
Troopers say the man failed to stop for four vehicles that were stopped in traffic in the inner and outer center lanes.

According to authorities, the Chevrolet collided with a Hyundai Santa Fe being driven by a 62-year-old man from Clearwater.
The Hyundai was forced forward and collided with the other vehicles, troopers say.
Both the Largo man and the passenger in the Hyundai were transported to the hospital. According to FHP, both suffered fatal injuries.
Reports from troopers indicate that the 62-year-old man from Clearwater sustained minor injuries.
The collision resulted in the closure of the northbound lanes of US-19 until just after 2:00 a.m.
