Two Orlando men, Nijah Jahni Mitchell (22) and Dany Telfort (20), have been indicted on federal charges for a string of convenience store robberies in Central Florida. The indictment, announced by U.S. Attorney Roger B. Handberg, includes multiple counts of Hobbs Act robbery and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.
The indictment alleges that between March 23 and April 1, 2023, Mitchell and Telfort robbed six convenience stores, using firearms during the robberies.

If convicted, Mitchell could face a minimum of 28 years in federal prison, while Telfort could face a minimum of 14 years. The government also intends to forfeit the firearms allegedly used in the crimes.
The case was investigated by multiple law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, Orlando Police Department, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, and others. It will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Megan Testerman.
