LAKELAND, Fla. – Two Lakeland women were arrested on Thursday after a shoplifting spree in the Davenport area.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of retail theft at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Posner Park around 6:40 PM. They quickly located the suspect vehicle, a silver Chrysler Pacifica, and conducted a traffic stop.

Inside the vehicle, deputies found 24-year-old Cassandra McFaul and 18-year-old Anielka Benck, along with over $550 worth of stolen merchandise from Dick’s Sporting Goods and Marshalls.

Additionally, the license plate on the vehicle was discovered to be registered to another car, and McFaul was driving with a suspended license.

Both women were arrested and charged with felony retail theft and conspiracy to commit retail theft. The stolen merchandise was returned to the stores.
