HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL. – A horrific crash claimed the lives of two men early Saturday morning.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a pickup truck was traveling northbound on US-301, north of Saint Francis Lane, as an SUV was traveling southbound.
Troopers say the pickup truck crossed the centerline and entered the path of the SUV and the two vehicles collided nearly head-on.
The pickup truck rotated and stopped in the northbound lane as the SUV rotated, overturned, and rolled
off a bridge and into a ditch.
Both drivers suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
The pickup truck was driven by a 29-year-old Dade City man. Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of the SUV was a 61-year-old Zephryhills man.
