Two Georgia men have been arrested and charged with multiple federal offenses related to a house explosion that occurred in 2023.
Officials announced in February 2023 that Stephen Glosser, 37, and Caleb Kinsey, 34, had been taken into custody within a month following a January explosion at a home in Richmond Hill, Georgia.
According to a statement released in February 2023 by the Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire, authorities in Georgia responded to an “explosion at a residential structure” on January 13, 2023.

The explosion happened at about five in the morning, and Police quickly discovered that an improvised explosive device was the source of the explosion.
A woman and her child were inside, but they were able to escape the attack unscathed, according to a WJCL report at the time.
Although their homes were unharmed, neighbors told the outlet that they could feel their homes trembling during the explosion.
WJCL reported that the woman and her child—whom the authorities have not named—had moved into the house the day before the explosion.
Bryan County Sheriff Mark Crowe stated at the time that the woman had a past relationship with one of the suspects, but he did not specify which suspect.

37-year-old Glosser was taken into custody locally, while Kinsey was taken into custody in Louisiana.
The men were charged with multiple counts more than a year later, according to a press release issued on Thursday by the Department of Justice (DOJ).
The indictment states that Glosser and Kinsey allegedly devised multiple plans to cause harm to the victim and her daughter within a month between December 2022 and January 2023.
According to the indictment, the men intended to let “a large python into the victim’s home to eat the victim’s daughter.”
The attorney’s office statement claims that they intended to blow up the woman’s house and then scalp her.
According to the statement, they also intended to mail the woman dead rats or dog feces and shoot arrows into her front door.
The indictment further alleges that Glosser located the victim’s home using internet searches, mapped out a path to the victim’s residence, and then, with Kinsey, acquired and built an explosive device at Glosser’s home using Tannerite that Kinsey purchased online.

According to the statement, the two “used a destructive device to blow up the victim’s home” after creating an explosive device.
