MARION COUNTY, Fla. – The Marion County Commission, in collaboration with multiple agencies, announced the arrests of two individuals responsible for dumping nearly 3,000 pounds of litter in the Ocala National Forest.
The suspects, Gary Cardwell and Johnny Reese, were identified after an investigation by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and the City of Ocala Code Enforcement, triggered by a report from the Litter Task Force.
The dumped items included household trash, furniture, and appliances. Cardwell was arrested prior to a press conference held by the Commission, and Reese was apprehended shortly after due to the photo released during the event.
