HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Two individuals have been arrested following a shooting incident at an apartment complex in Hillsborough County.

On February 2, 2025, at 3:46 a.m., deputies responded to reports of gunfire in the 5800 block of Memorial Highway in Town ‘N’ Country. Two 911 callers had reported hearing shots fired. Deputies knocked on the door of the residence where the shots were believed to have originated, but no one answered. Concerned that children might be inside, deputies used dynamic entry tools to breach the door.

Inside the apartment, deputies found an adult male, two adult females, and two minor children unharmed. A nearby resident then reported a bullet hole in their window.

Deputies discovered a single gunshot hole in a second-floor window that had traveled through the living room wall. One adult male and a one-year-old child were in the apartment when the bullet entered.

A search warrant was obtained, and deputies found shell casings and two firearms hidden under the bathroom vanity in the initial apartment. The investigation revealed that Faith Thomas, 26, and Donald Roberts, 28, had been involved in a domestic violence incident.

Thomas admitted to firing the gun off the balcony in an attempt to get Roberts to leave the apartment. Roberts was arrested and charged with Battery. Thomas was also arrested and charged with Shooting at Within or Into a Building and Discharging a Firearm in Public or on Residential Property.

“I’m glad our deputies were able to quickly respond and make the necessary arrests,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “While domestic violence is never okay, discharging a firearm endangers other innocent lives and is never an acceptable solution.”

The investigation remains active.
