RIVERVIEW, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a teen who shot into an occupied vehicle in Riverview.
On Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at approximately 8:00 p.m., deputies responded to the Circle K, located at 11606 Balm Riverview Road, where Jerome James Knight, 19, had fired a gun through the window of a pick-up truck with two young children inside.
The victim reported a physical altercation between himself, Knight, and a group of unidentified people, had taken place shortly before in the parking lot.
The victim told detectives, at one point, Knight fired his gun toward the passenger side window of the pick-up truck where the victim’s two young children were sitting in the back seat.
No one was injured during the shooting.
“We are asking anyone who has seen Jerome James Knight to please come forward,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “This teen’s reckless and violent behavior put two innocent children at risk of losing their lives. Please do not engage if you see him, for he is likely armed. Instead, call us immediately.”
