18-Year-Old Suspect Arrested In Plant City Fatal Stabbing: Hillsborough County Sheriff

PLANT CITY, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred early Friday morning in Plant City.

Deputies responded to a report of a stabbing in the 5800 block of Bob Smith Avenue around 1 a.m. on August 23rd. Upon arrival, they found a victim suffering from severe upper-body trauma.

The victim was transported to a local hospital but tragically succumbed to their injuries.

Detectives determined that a verbal altercation had escalated, leading to the stabbing. Roelmer Fabrisio Mo-Quix, 18, has been arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder with a Weapon.

“Any argument, no matter how intense, should never result in the loss of life. Violence is not and will never be accepted in our county,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We are committed to ensuring the safety and security of every resident, and we will hold those who resort to violence accountable.”

The victim’s identity will be released once their next of kin has been notified.
