LAND O’ LAKES, Fla. – The Pasco Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred early Saturday morning (1/23/2021) in the Lake Padgett Estates area of Land O’Lakes.
The shooting involved multiple Land O’Lakes High School students and preliminary information indicates that all parties involved were juveniles known to each other.
Two students were shot and suffered minor injuries that did not require hospitalization.
On Sunday, Pasco Sheriff’s detectives arrested Charmille Vincent, 18, of Land O’ Lakes, on five counts of attempted homicide and one count of firing a weapon from a vehicle, after he was identified as the shooter in this case.
An additional suspect, Okeese Shuriah, 17, identified as the driver of the vehicle from which Vincent shot, was also arrested in Hillsborough County, where he resides, and taken to their jail.
He is also charged with five counts of attempted homicide.
Pasco Sheriff’s Office said, “Out of an abundance of caution, the Pasco Sheriff’s Office will still have an increased law enforcement presence at Land O’Lakes High School. We are deeply committed to keeping our children and young adults safe at school and in our community.”
