18 Migrants From China And Ecuador Intercepted After Arriving In Florida By Boat

U.S. Border Patrol agents and local law enforcement responded to a migrant landing in Pompano Beach Tuesday morning. A total of 18 migrants were encountered after arriving on a vessel.

The group consisted of five Chinese nationals and 13 Ecuadorian nationals, according to USBP.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Authorities are working to determine the origin of the vessel and the circumstances surrounding the migrants’ journey.

This incident comes amid a rise in maritime migration attempts to South Florida. The U.S. Border Patrol continues to work with partner agencies to address these challenges and enforce immigration laws.
