At approximately 3:30 p.m. on August 24, 2020, HCSO deputies and the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a call of shots fired on I-4 eastbound near McIntosh Road.
At this time, a vehicle, with a victim inside of it, arrived at South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City. A shooting victim was unresponsive upon arrival and later succumbed to their injuries.
“The car was hit multiple times. It’s very fortunate that no other vehicles or occupants were hit at that time of the day,” said Major Frank Losat of Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say they are looking for a late 1990s Ford Taurus, tan in color with a gold tint and ask if anyone has information should call 813-247-8200.
