TAMPA, FL. – A 15-year-old boy had died after being stabbed in an altercation, according to police.
Investigators say at 3:45 am on Friday, the 15-year-old male victim was in the area of N. Packwood and W. Sligh Ave when he was involved in an altercation with an unidentified suspect, who stabbed the 15-year-old boy.
Police say a witness transported the victim to a nearby hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.
“Although early in the investigation, this does not appear to be a random act. Detectives are following up on several leads,” said Tampa Police PIO Rose Angelakopoulos in a statement.
