SARASOTA, Fla. – Sarasota Police detectives have arrested a 15-year-old in connection to the shooting at the Sarasota County Fairgrounds that happened Saturday shortly before 10 p.m.
Sarasota Police detectives are confident the suspect knew the victim and this was not a random incident.
The shooting happened at the Sarasota County Fairgrounds, 3000 Ringling Boulevard, Sarasota, on Saturday, March 20, 2021, just after 10 p.m.
Sarasota Police officers who were working a detail at the fairgrounds were alerted about a possible disturbance. Preliminary information suggests one person pulled out a gun and shot another person.
One adult male victim, age 18, was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with serious injuries and is in stable condition Sunday morning after surgery.
