BRADENTON, Fla. – A toddler drowned in a vacation rental home’s pool in Manatee County on Wednesday afternoon, prompting an investigation by police.
According to the Bradenton Police Department, at about 4:15 p.m., a family member grabbed the 15-month-old toddler from a domestic pool at the 23rd Avenue West house.
The infant was rushed to Blake Hospital, where he died just before 5 p.m. despite life-saving efforts.

The child’s family is from Arkansas and the drowning appears accidental, police say
Bradenton Police Department’s chaplain responded to Blake Hospital to assist the family. BPD’s Peer Support Team is available to officers who responded to the scene and hospital Wednesday.
