HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A collaborative effort between the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the Tampa Police Department, and the Florida Department of Corrections resulted in multiple arrests and the seizure of firearms and drugs.

The operation, conducted on December 13, 2024, aimed to address recent crime trends in the county. Law enforcement officers conducted 146 traffic stops, leading to 17 arrests. Two firearms and $1,400 in cash were seized during the operation.
One significant arrest involved 19-year-old Brandon Landaverde, who was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm during a traffic stop. As a convicted felon, Landaverde was in violation of his probation and faces multiple charges.

Sheriff Chad Chronister emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation in combating crime and ensuring public safety.
“These results highlight the importance of proactive partnerships between agencies to keep our community safe,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “By working together, we’re making it clear that illegal activity has no place in Hillsborough County.”
