COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – A man who recklessly endangered the lives of law enforcement officers during a high-speed chase last year will spend the next 14 years behind bars.
Emmanuel Reed, 24, received a 14-year prison sentence for intentionally crashing into two Collier County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicles during a high-speed chase in August 2023. The incident left two deputies with minor injuries.
Reed pleaded no contest to charges including fleeing and eluding, aggravated battery on law enforcement, and grand theft auto. A Collier County Circuit judge sentenced him as a habitual felony offender.

“This individual displayed a blatant and reckless disregard for other motorists and our deputies; it’s a miracle nobody was seriously injured,” Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said. “He will have a lot of time to think about the seriousness of his actions in prison.”
During the ensuing pursuit, Reed crashed multiple times, including intentionally ramming two patrol cars. The chase ended when he crashed into a ditch and was arrested. The injured deputies were treated and released from a hospital.
