A 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with carjacking with a firearm and other related offenses in Marion County, Florida. The incident occurred on Saturday night, August 10, 2024.
The victim reported to a Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy that he had been carjacked at gunpoint at a Circle K gas station on NE Jacksonville Road. The suspect, identified as Kenneth Singleton, allegedly pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded his car keys.

Singleton then fled the scene in the victim’s blue 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe. Deputies quickly located the stolen vehicle and apprehended Singleton. A handgun matching the victim’s description was found inside the car.

Singleton reportedly admitted to the carjacking and showed little remorse for his actions. He has a prior record of delinquency, including charges for grand theft of a motor vehicle and battery on a law enforcement officer.
Singleton was taken into custody and transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
