A federal grand jury in Kansas City, Missouri, has indicted 12 men from the Kansas City metropolitan area on charges related to a fentanyl distribution conspiracy, which allegedly resulted in at least one death, and illegal possession of firearms.
The indictment, unsealed today, follows the arrests and initial court appearances of several defendants.

Law enforcement executed search warrants at three residences, seizing 6,738 fentanyl pills, 11 firearms (including a machine gun), five stolen vehicles, and over $75,000 in cash.
The indictment alleges the 12 defendants participated in a conspiracy to distribute fentanyl since December 2022 and used firearms in connection with their drug trafficking activities.

One defendant, Justin D. Rivera, faces additional charges, including distributing fentanyl resulting in a death, multiple counts of fentanyl distribution, and firearms offenses.
Other defendants face various charges related to fentanyl distribution and firearms possession.
The charges in the indictment are accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
