Angel Colon of Plant City is celebrating a life-changing win after claiming a $1 million prize from the Florida Lottery’s “$1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR” scratch-off game. Colon chose to receive her winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of $640,000.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Publix located at 775 Highway 559 in Auburndale. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the lucky ticket.

The “$1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR” is a $50 scratch-off game with two top prizes of $1 million per year for life and 234 prizes of $1 million. The game boasts over $1.6 billion in total cash prizes, with overall odds of winning at 1 in 4.50.
Scratch-off games are a significant revenue generator for the Florida Lottery, accounting for approximately 74% of ticket sales.
