1 Dead And Up To 15 Injured At Shooting During Chiefs Super Bowl Parade In Kansas City

On the day of the Chiefs Super Bowl parade, thousands of fans gathered in Kansas City to honor their victorious football team. As the parade marched through the city streets, a tragic turn of events transpired.

Shots were fired, causing panic and confusion among the crowd.

The shooting resulted in at least 15 people being injured and one person killed. The exact number of victims and the severity of their injuries are yet to be confirmed.

Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene, providing medical assistance to those in need and transporting the injured to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

At a news conference, Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves detailed the shooting’s toll and revealed that two people had been arrested. She stated that she had heard that fans may have been involved in apprehending a suspect but could not confirm it.

“I’m angry at what happened today. The people who came to this celebration should expect a safe environment.” Graves said.

Eyewitnesses described a scene of chaos and fear as the shots rang out during the parade. People scattered in all directions, seeking cover and hoping to escape the danger.

Some attendees shared their harrowing experiences, recounting the panic they felt and the efforts they made to protect themselves and others around them.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson and the first lady were at the parade when shots were fired, but they were unharmed, Parson said on X.

“Governor & First Lady Parson were in attendance when shots were fired near Union Station in KC. They are safe and secure. State law enforcement personnel are assisting local authorities in response efforts. As we wait to learn more, our hearts go out to the victims,” said Parson’s office.
