The jackpot for tonight’s Powerball drawing has rolled to an estimated .9 billion!

$1.9 Billion Powerball Drawing Delayed Due To Security Protocols

The moment you all have been waiting for didn’t happen. Officials say that due to security protocols, the drawing will take place at a later time and can be viewed on the Powerball website.

The Lottery official said to hold onto your tickets as the drawing will take place.

“Tonight’s Powerball drawing has been delayed due to a participating lottery needing extra time to complete the required security protocols. Powerball has strict security requirements that must be met by all 48 lotteries before a drawing can occur,” the California Lottery wrote on Twitter.

“When the required security protocols are complete, the drawing will be performed under the supervision of lottery security officials and independent auditors,” the tweet continued. “Winning numbers will be posted as soon as they are available. Thank you for your patience.”

A Powerball spokeswoman says “We are still planning to have the drawing tonight. We plan to send an update once that happens.”

According to officials, they do not know how long the delay will be.

The Powerball jackpot has rolled 40 times since the August 6, 2022 drawing, generating a staggering $97.1 million in contributions to Florida’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).

Jackpot winners have the option to receive their winnings in 30 annual installments or as a one-time, lump-sum cash option of approximately $929.1 million.

In addition to the jackpot, players have the chance to win non-jackpot prizes ranging from $4 to $2 million by matching other number combinations.

POWERBALL jackpots start at $20 million and roll until the jackpot is won. Players win by matching the five white ball numbers (1-69) and the Power Ball number (1-26). The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are approximately 1-in-24.87.
