PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – The Pasco Sheriff’s Office (PSO) is issuing a public warning about ongoing IRS tax scams, urging residents to be extra vigilant during the current tax filing season. Scammers are known to impersonate IRS agents over the phone, making it difficult to distinguish legitimate calls from fraudulent ones.
The PSO emphasizes that these scams often involve individuals posing as IRS representatives who may use aggressive tactics, threats of arrest, or promises of refunds to trick victims into providing personal information or sending money.

They may spoof caller ID to make it appear as though the call is genuinely from the IRS.
The Sheriff’s Office encourages residents to share this information with friends and family to help prevent others from falling victim to these scams.
