LAND O’ LAKES, Fla. – A Pasco County Sheriff’s deputy was injured in a crash Tuesday evening when a vehicle failed to yield to his patrol car while it was traveling in emergency mode. The incident occurred at the intersection of Collier Parkway and SR-54 around 7:15 p.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the deputy was driving a marked Chevy Tahoe northbound on Collier Parkway with emergency lights and sirens activated. As he slowed to clear the intersection, a Lexus sedan traveling westbound on SR-54 failed to stop and collided with the patrol vehicle.

The impact caused the patrol car to overturn and slide into the southbound lanes of Collier Parkway, where it collided with a Chevy pickup truck.
The deputy and the driver of the Lexus, a 56-year-old Lutz man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the pickup truck, a 37-year-old Land O’ Lakes man, was uninjured.
