Lacoochee Woman Dies After Being Struck By Florida Highway Patrol Car

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A Pasco County woman has died after being struck by a Florida Highway Patrol car on US-301 overnight.

According to investigators, on Saturday, at 9:49 PM, a Florida Highway Patrol car was traveling northbound on US-301, north of Desrosier Road.

Troopers say a bicyclist was traveling near the centerline of the divided, unlighted highway with no lights.

The patrol car struck the bicyclist, a 40-year-old female from Lacoochee, who suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
