ICE Arrests Tren de Aragua Gang Member In Texas Wanted In Chile For Drug, Weapons Trafficking

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the arrest of a Venezuelan national wanted in Chile for narcotics and weapons trafficking. Carlos Daniel Teran-Aguilar, 18, was apprehended in Austin, Texas, on January 26, 2025, during routine ICE operations. He is reportedly a member of the Tren de Aragua gang.

Teran-Aguilar remains in ICE custody.

“We will continue prioritizing public safety as targets are identified and arrested,” said Miguel Vergara, ICE Enforcement and Removals Operations San Antonio Field Office Director. “Our brave officers are out on the streets everyday removing the most egregious criminal aliens.”

According to ICE, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) initially encountered Teran-Aguilar at the Port of Entry in Calexico, California, on November 1, 2024.

He was subsequently paroled into the United States. The circumstances surrounding his parole were not detailed in the ICE statement. The arrest highlights ICE’s ongoing efforts to identify and apprehend individuals with outstanding warrants or criminal histories in other countries.
