A 48-year-old Florida man was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment after suffering from an emergency and crashing into a Wells Fargo bank Friday.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a 2001 GMC Yukon, was traveling southbound on Madison Street approaching SR-54 in New Port Richey, Pasco County.
Troopers say the man suffered a medical emergency, lost control of the SUV, entered the east shoulder of the roadway where it collided with a sign flag owned by The Original Barbershop.
The SUV continued southeast through a grass field and ran over several bushes adjacent to a parking lot before colliding with the exterior wall of an unoccupied Wells Fargo bank located at 6013 SR-54.
The man was transported to an area hospital for medical care following the crash.
