A 21-year-old man is facing serious charges after allegedly stabbing a juvenile multiple times at a party in Freeport on Saturday night.
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call just before 10 p.m. from friends of the victim, who were en route to the hospital with the injured juvenile. The victim had sustained stab wounds to the head and neck area at a party off Portland Park Road.

Deputies intercepted the victim and witnesses at Grady Brown Park, where Walton County Fire Rescue transported the victim to a local hospital.
Meanwhile, deputies responded to the scene of the party at 187 Portland Park Road. They interviewed multiple witnesses and reviewed video evidence, which identified 21-year-old John Byron Kingkade as the suspect in the stabbing.
Kingkade was arrested and charged with aggravated battery and aggravated child abuse. He is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.

In a surprising twist, Kingkade’s mother, 41-year-old Krystal Rabon Kingkade, was also arrested and charged with tampering with evidence.
She allegedly instructed witnesses to delete cell phone video footage of the incident. She was released on Sunday afternoon on a $15,000 bond.
